Get Ready to Study Abroad

B1 (Intermediate) recommended

Prepare for university abroad with practical work on interviews, lectures and academic writing. Learn to talk about your achievements and interests, develop answers to common types of interview questions, and organise information from listening and reading. You will also practise planning essays, writing clear paragraphs, revising and proofreading. The eight modules provide approximately 16 hours of learning and practice, with three personal consultations included. Designed for high-school students preparing to study abroad, particularly in English, with B1 as the recommended level.

Will I know the exact questions for my university interview?

The course cannot predict exactly what you will be asked. It prepares you for common types of university interview questions and the communication skills they require.

You will formulate and practise your own answers, learn useful language for presenting yourself, and work on talking about your achievements, interests and experience. These skills can be adapted to your own interview.

What academic skills will I practise?

Alongside interview preparation, the course introduces practical listening, reading and writing skills for university study.

  • Understanding lectures and identifying key information
  • Taking effective notes and organising information from lectures and reading

  • Writing clear academic paragraphs
  • Revising, proofreading and correcting common mistakes
  • Structuring a research paper and writing emails to an academic advisor

Why this studio exists

It started with
an English
grade.

1990. A small town near the Ural Mountains.

Elena once found English almost impossible. Years later, she became a university English professor.

Along the way, she discovered something important: learning had become her own. That experience is at the heart of Read & Write Studio.

Good teaching matters. Good materials matter. And so does the confidence to keep learning for yourself.

Read Elena’s full story

It started with an English grade.

It was 1990, in a small town at the foot of the Ural Mountains. A girl named Elena was looking at her latest English grade at school — and she wasn't happy.

English seemed almost impossible. The words were difficult to pronounce. The grammar rules seemed endless. Sixteen tenses seemed impossible to remember.

Her parents offered solutions: “We can find you a tutor.” “We can buy you another textbook.” But something else happened. Time passed.

The girl chose English as her major. She completed a PhD in Comparative Linguistics. She spent time in the UK, worked as an interpreter for an international company, and eventually became a university English professor.

And somewhere along the way, she discovered something important: She didn't need another textbook. She didn't need someone sitting beside her every time she learned. She had become an independent learner.

Her story isn't unique. In fact, it is probably the story of many successful language learners.

People take courses. Change teachers. Buy textbooks. Download apps. Prepare for international exams. And yet, when they have to use English in real life, they can still find themselves searching for words, hesitating, or wondering whether what they are saying is actually right.

Because eventually, the teacher isn't there. The textbook isn't there. The app isn't there. You are.

Every learner's journey is different. There is no single method, textbook or teacher that can take you all the way. Good teaching matters. Good materials matter. Guidance matters. But at some point, learning has to become your own.

That is where Read & Write Studio comes in.

Independent learning. Real progress.

A space for people who want to take responsibility for their English, learn at their own pace, and develop the confidence to use the language when nobody is there to help.

Read. Write. Listen. Think. Practise. And gradually, make English your own.
